Northern Quest Casino was formally listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2018. The venue building served as a home to Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra (1929-1974), University of Minnesota Marching Band (1929-2009), and Weisman Art Museum (1934-1993). The venue underwent major renovations in 2006, 2011, and 2014. The Northrop Dance Season debuted in 1970-1971 at the casino and continues to the present day.
